Oscar Winning Director Films in Wyoming
The latest project from Oscar winning director, Alexander Payne, (Sideways, About Schmidt, The Descendants) titled “Nebraska” will feature Wyoming locations.
The production team filmed in early December from the Montana border down to The Lake Stop, on Lake DeSmet, just north of Buffalo. The Film Office was on set at The Lake Stop and posted some production stills on the Film Office Facebook page. They plan to shoot additional driving scenes from Gillette to the South Dakota border.
"NEBRASKA" is a father and son road trip, from Billings, Montana to Lincoln, Nebraska that gets waylaid at a small town in central Nebraska, where the father grew up and has scores to settle. Told with deadpan humor and a unique visual style, it's ultimately the story of a son trying to understand his impenetrable father.
Representatives from the Wyoming Film Office accompanied location scouts to the region in early August. “Nebraska” is set to complete in 2013.
