Hitching Post Book Launch
Most WTIC members experienced "The Hitch," Cheyenne's iconic Hitching Post Inn, at one time or another.
Many of us had memorable experiences there, and some of these are recalled in a book produced by the Wyoming State Archives and Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association Education Foundation.
The 140+ page picture and text book will be available for pre-order online soon, and we will send you ordering information separately. The book will also be available after Dec. 12 at the Wyoming State Museum Store and at City News bookstore in Cheyenne. Only 1,000 limited edition copies are being printed so place your order as soon as possible.
In addition, you are invited to a special book launch event at the Wyoming State Museum (2301 Central Avenue, Cheyenne) on Dec. 10th from 5-7 p.m. for a book signing, refreshments, cash bar and entertainment by the Hitch's own Michael Degreve. To attend this event, RSVP by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 307-634 8816, ext 202.
The WLRA Education Foundation, which helps train young Wyoming people for hospitality jobs, is the beneficiary of the proceeds of the $45 book.
The Wyoming Archives' Sue Castaneda was inspired to produce and edit the book after she watched alongside many others in Cheyenne, the burning of a substantial part of the Hitch about two years ago.
