Film Office Adds Fall Fam Trip
In 2012 the Wyoming Office of Tourism Film Office has run film trips through Sheridan, Cody, Jackson and Cheyenne, but just recently worked the Southwest corner of the state into the rotation.
In mid September, the WOT film office grabbed a couple of LA location professionals, an SUV and a camera to check out possible filming locations in Southwest Wyoming.
Of particular interest were the Killpecker Sand Dunes. About 45 minutes north of Rock Springs, these massive mountains of sand represent the largest shifting dune field in North America, second only to the Sahara in size. From there, they hit Flaming Gorge before striking north for Pinedale area lakes in addition to the Jackson Hole area.
Participants included a production coordinator from a commercial production company and an independent location scout with credits for “The Artist” and “True Blood.”
