Support National Parks for a New Century
The 100th anniversary of the National Park Service is a particularly important opportunity to demonstrate unity and expand the base of supporters of America's national park idea.
One of the key outcomes of this year’s Summit on National Parks is National Parks for a New Century: Statement of Joint Principles. The Joint Principles convey strong support for national parks and related conservation, historic preservation, and recreation programs and will be shared with national leaders as a widespread, nonpartisan expression of common ground among park advocates, philanthropists, the recreation and tourism industries and new park partners in the education and health communities. They are designed to highlight the broad appeal of national parks. Organizers will present Joint Principles to the Presidential Platform Hearings of both parties, to those campaigning for office this fall and to others.
Joint Principles already enjoys the endorsement of nearly 100 key organizations and individuals. Any individual or organization that are key leaders in the park movement can sign on as an early endorser at www.2016parksummit.org/next-steps/sign-on-form.html?
