More Money For Tourism Planning Projects
State Business Ready Community funds can now be used for tourism planning purposes thanks to a new law passed by the most recent legislative session.
The rules are currently being changed to include planning as an eligible activity within the Business Ready Community program for plans that will identify the potential future possibilities and feasibility for funding those opportunities. $1 million will be available every two years for planning grants.
“This change in funding eligibility will greatly enhance destinations opportunities for receiving funding to help in planning for tourism development,” says Kristin Phipps, the Industry Services Sr. Specialist for the Wyoming Office of Tourism.
“We are excited about how this new funding avenue can help enhance the efforts for product development and compliment the work that we are doing with the Tourism Master Plan.”
The proposed rules will be available for a two-week public comment period beginning on Thursday, April 4.
